The Irony Is Rich - But Soon To Be Poor

Post by Egg » Mon Sep 26, 2011 2:29 pm

Christine Lagarde has signalled that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) may have to tap its members – including Britain – for billions of pounds of extra funding to stem the European debt crisis.

The head of the IMF has warned that its $384bn (£248bn) war chest designed as an emergency bail-out fund is inadequate to deliver the scale of the support required by troubled states.

In a document distributed to the IMF steering committee at the weekend, Ms Lagarde said: “The fund’s credibility, and hence effectiveness, rests on its perceived capacity to cope with worst-casescenarios. Our lending capacity of almost $400bn looks comfortable today, but pales in comparison with the potential financing needs of vulnerable countries and crisis bystanders.”

THE IMF may need a bail out!

You can't make this stuff up.

all of this is so reminiscent of the days before the crash of '29 that it's actually blowing my mind. remember the mighty Banker's Pool that stepped in to stanch the bleeding? JP Morgan and the boyz in the smoke filled room in the nether bowels of the Stock Exchange.... they had to come in disguise! hahahah i'm really enjoying the fall of this ridiculous house o' cards. again.

It's a giant international ponzie scheme. Seriously. This is not even possible.

If every dollar, ruble, euro, yen, yuen, etc were used to pay back debt, we'd be left with no currency but we'd still have plenty of debt.

That's a losing system.

Banks just pretend they have money, had it out to people as debt, on paper. Now it is clear why the credit card situation was pushed really hard.

Undercover...I remember that long post about the crash days...

When all else fails, have the government inform it's patriotic citizens that all is well and to keep paying the banks.
