So, anyway, evil.... you know what Indiee, I asked these guys about evil not longer after this forum started actually. There's a thread around here somewhere.

I think evil comes from either misunderstanding, lack of compassion and conscience, or focused malevolence.

Well the good news is I'm inside and the furnace works. My dawg refuses to go outside to take a shit. She'd rather hold it till the weather turns. hahahaha

What I'm trying to say is, nobody knows nothin'. Got me? And, because of that, all of these "false idols" are built to give people some sort of solace. Even the worst of them serve someone - and not just those running the scams, those who are taken. Capisce?
We've had this very same discussion before. In existentialist terms (which is what we're considering) 'idolatry' is the substitution of mal foie (bad faith) for authentic existence- coupled with the conviction that essence subsumes existence. Hell of a problem.
I missed this earlier, man. Sorry. Yeah, we have, but some conversations are good for more than one go around.

Anyway, just because you and I see the problem doesn't mean that most of the world does. ;)

Some say evil is giving monkeys cigarettes.
