Was Jesus the saviour or the one who needed saving?
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they will see God.

I just had a thought about the Messiah. This is mainly just a thought.

The Jews don't recognize Jesus as the Messiah.

Maybe he was just proof that the Messiah wasn't a saviour, but one who needed saving.

Think about it. What does the world need more than anything today? Do we really need one person dictating our future?

Or do we need a person to negate our fear and hate instead with compassion?

Someone wholly innocent who needed help?

The poem is about a saviour being one "germ" which would infect the human species not with evil, but with compassion.... and how could that happen?

This being would not present itself as someone who knew what was best for humanity. This person would be like a baby to the world. A small innocent thing for the world to see and love and know that they could not care for such innocence with the embattlements they've made.

Innocence cannot survive in a world of apathy, but apathy cannot survive in a world where an innocent child is made king.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they will see God.

Jesus could not have been the messiah because he did not save the world. He merely prepared the world, provided a ritual if you will for the world to contemplate and pass on through generations and firmly establish in the genetic psyche of all mankind. He was the shadow of the true messiah.
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for they will see God.

Under the shadow of thy wings, Jehovah.

Jesus never claimed to be the Moshiach. The parchment on the top of the cross upon which he was executed read: Iesus the Nazarene King of Iudia, according to saint John. The reason for that simple irony?- that the word ' Moshiach' meant, for the Jews at the time, 'King'- the inheritor of King David. All of the Synoptics go to great lengths in establishing a genealogical connection between Jesus and David- two men separated in history by 700 years. At the end of the day what Jesus was was a fine Pharisaical philosopher in the very best tradition of Mishna- in by no means the new King who would liberate Judea from Pagan occupation.
