I'm curious about why you keep going on about it.

It's a done thing with you but you keep highlighting it over and over.

Why so?

Followers gather to listen to stories that are centuries old with not much relevance to current or local issues. They all have the power to go out and help build a house or feed the poor on sundays, but I guess it's easier to listen like mindless drones. And Bill hicks had it right, if Jesus came back, would he want to see a cross?

Why not?

It annoys me that 90% of people believe stuff without evidence, and I'll never shut up about it until they fucking shape up. NEVER!

But that's it.

You let yourself get bothered over something you don't like.

Don't you think it's kind of a waste of your time and energy and sense of well being?

A word to the wise...you can't argue with faith based people. Or you can...but the outcome is never enlightenment. It just further entrenches their position. You know this. I know you do. So maybe your reasoning for doing so doesn't have so much to do with a logical argument but you want to fluster them and get them going.

Averagejoe...we gotta whole lotta of living to do - why waste it on butting heads with no outcome that moves anyone further ahead?

Arguing with a stupid person is never a waste of time, even if they can't comprehend their own stupidity.

It's like being a missionary, except a lot more noble.

I was thinking about something to discuss with you:

You come from a Levantine tradition of which religion is something that must be historically real. "Things must have actually happened the way they happened..." So, there are these endless loops of trying to prove whether they are correct or exist (or not)...

What if we left that discussion and looked at the function of religion in society and see what it's redeeming traits and repulsive characteristics are through history.
