In a strange twist, I do like this Pope.

He seems to act, more than he talks. Fair on the issues as well.

Looks like he's in the position of leading a bunch of dumbasses that follow text than reality.

North Korea has agreed to suspend all Nuclear Tests and close up a major test site. This is very good news for North Korea and the World - big progress! Look forward to our Summit.

North Korea is shifting its time zone 30 minutes to align with South Korea's

The time change report confirmed news from South Korean officials on Sunday that Kim pledged to scrap the northern time zone, which was created in 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese rule after World War Two.

South Korea and Japan are in the same time zone, nine hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time.

"It is not an abstract meaning that the north and the south become one but it is just a process in which the north and the south turn their different and separated things into the same and single ones," Kim said, according to the dispatch.

Flashback to 2014

Why Did North Korea Release Kenneth Bae and Matthew Todd Miller?

By Barbara Demick, November 12, 2014

So the seemingly unilateral release, this past weekend, of Kenneth Bae, a forty-six-year-old Korean-American missionary who was detained for more than two years, and Matthew Todd Miller, a twenty-four-year-old man who was arrested in April while on a private tour, raises some questions: What did the North Koreans hope to gain? Was the release simply a bold gesture signalling that North Korea wants to open a dialogue with the United States?

...

“Kim Jong-un is a smart young man, and this was a very smart move,” Donald Gregg, who served terms as a C.I.A. station chief and the U.S. Ambassador in Seoul, said of the release of the detainees. “I’ve long sensed that Kim Jong-un is going to change the nature of this country.” Now retired, Gregg has worked in recent years to promote engagement between the United States and North Korea, including presiding over Ambassador Jang’s appearance at the Council on Foreign Relations in October. During a trip to Pyongyang in February, Gregg told me, he met with North Korea’s vice-foreign minister, Ri Yong-ho, who told him to expect Kim to open up the country.

“The sky’s the limit under Kim Jong-un,” Ri reportedly said. Gregg said that Ri also told him, “Kim Jong-un is going to be around for a long time. So, if President Obama doesn’t talk to us, we will just wait for the next President.” For now, the Obama Administration professes to be mystified by the North Koreans’ motives. Asked in Beijing on Monday whether the release of the detainees gave him a better indication of Kim Jong-un’s strategy toward the United States, the President answered with a single word: “No.”

Mike Pompeo dismisses North Korea's 'gangster' comments, says talks are going well
By Faith Karimi, Aaron Pellish, and Kate Sullivan, CNN
Updated 9:44 AM ET, Sun July 8, 2018

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo dismissed North Korea's accusation of a "gangster-like mindset" in denuclearization talks, saying the two nations had productive conversations that will continue in the days ahead.
Pompeo brushed aside the comments Sunday, saying "if those requests were gangster-like, the world is a gangster," and noting that the UN Security Council has been clear on what North Korea needs to achieve.
He spoke in Tokyo with his Japanese and South Korean counterparts after two days of talks in Pyongyang. While his talks with North Korean officials were conducted in good faith and they reaffirmed their commitment to abandoning nuclear weapons, he said, the US sanctions against the nation will remain in place.

Despite talk of Trump getting rid of NK nukes and bringing peace, it seems it is the same old stalling and BS. NK is the inevitable loser if it keeps going this way.
