I think it's ridiculous that in some school districts, you can't pack a lunch. My kid's school isn't too bad. They offer 3 or more kinds of fresh fruit, 2 or more veggies, 2 kinds of sandwiches on whole wheat and then some kind of hot food. The kids can pick whatever they want. School breakfast is about the same, fresh fruit, cereal, hot cereal every day or there's a different kind of hot food every day.
Yeah, the no lunch from home thing is absolutely ridiculous. I wonder what their explanation for that is.

The explanation is that it's not true. Anyone can bring their lunch to school in Denver.

Well, thank God. Because, if my crusts are not cut off I get very upset.

Shit. Lots of schools in this town don't even have cafeterias.

Not in Chicago, though.

Principal Elsa Carmona said her intention is to protect students from their own unhealthful food choices.
She saw how fat the mothers were and decided to take things into her own hands.

Who determines what is bad food and what is their qualification to determine it. Monsanto Labs? The first Lady?

Well, Michelle would probably be a good person for that job, but it wouldn't be her. Hopefully a panel of nutrition experts that would look at the nutritional value, fat content and sugar content. Most foods are a no brainer though.
