We use something called "PagePlanner".

It has already, but I have not worked with it for very long. The last couple of years 20 % of the people in our publishing house has been laid off.... Those of us who are still there have to work harder and also do stuff we didn't have to do before, so now I do some layout work in addition to just editing and writing.

I still have a lot to learn, but it is kinda fun to play around with Indesign. At least when I don't mess up too much and the buttons do what I want them to do, haha.

The tuition is more interesting than the testing and the skills are supposed to be brand neutral.

Mine was free of charge. The incumbent government cares nothing for general upskilling so those days are gone.
