Karzai called the shootings in Kandahar province a cruel act against the people of Afghanistan, and told Panetta that Afghans have lost trust in international forces, the presidential palace said in a statement.

Re: Oh snap
Um, don't they have anyone over there who is overseeing the mental health of these soldiers? Did any of his buddies top off camp command that they were worried about their comrade? Or is this going to turn into a situation where the soldier was hazed/bullied and decided he couldn't take it anymore, snapped and drew the bead on a whole bunch of innocents.
Also, they flew him out of Afghanistan.
Shouldn't he be tried in a a civilian court? I don't know about these things.

http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/28/travel/je ... ?hpt=hp_t1(CNN) -- A JetBlue pilot has been charged with interfering with a flight crew after his midair behavioral meltdown led to an emergency landing.
The federal criminal complaint reveals details of the incident in which Clayton Osbon, 49, displayed what passengers and fellow crew members described as erratic, bizarre and disturbing behavior.
Osbon has been suspended pending an investigation and is receiving medical treatment, the airline said Wednesday.
If convicted, Osbon would face a maximum 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The U.S. Attorney's office has 30 days to present the matter to a grand jury for indictment.
He's 6'3 and about 250lbs and was screaming stuff about Afghanistan and Israel.
He was the captain of the plane.
