GOP idiots and liars

Post by Pigeon » Mon Apr 11, 2022 9:12 pm

Four days after joining the New Hampshire Republican primary, U.S. Senate hopeful and bitcoin millionaire Bruce Fenton compared the widespread adoration of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the reaction to Osama bin Laden, warning that bin Laden was also once seen as a “hero.”

Fenton spun up the cautionary tale last week in his first televised interview as a candidate, telling WMUR’s Adam Sexton that “there’s so many parallels right now between Ukraine and the Taliban.”

“Remember, as Zelensky is a hero now, Osama bin Laden was once considered a hero,” Fenton said.

If the idiots gain power again, it will be sad times for the US.

Not just the U.S. Trump affected the entire world.

Trump and his ilk exposed serious flaws in the democracy. They exploited those flaws to hide, justify and elude while they continued to wreak havoc. They are still doing it.

From a historical perspective, this is not new nor is the slow decay of a culture/civilization. Things change, they always do. That is the nature of life.
I hope that there can be some counterbalances to the rise of ignorance, intentional information / education suppression and so on and that these will forge something better. I hope.

This has been planned and put into action for many years. It has progressed much farther than many people believed.

Perhaps at no time in modern history has the opportunity to be educated, to know things, been so widely disseminated. Even a short 100 years ago, people would drop out of school at the grade school levels to go to work and university education was for the elite only. Prior to that, compulsory education was only brought in and further back than that, well, you were lucky if you could read a little and spell your name.

Why have we dumbed down? Yes, the advent of the internet is propelling that by elevating stupid people and allowing them for a wider reach. Is it erosion of values? Meaning?

Uninformed/less educated people can be mislead and controlled with fear. The conservatives have learned it works.
