There are many (purely speculative) possibilities:

• Free energy is available right now
• Humans have been genetically engineered by NHI
• Humans can't compete with NHI for dominance
• Our reality is not what we think it is (different dimensions, parallel realities)
• Previously impossible things because of limited understanding of our reality and physics could suddenly be proven possible. Like telepathic communication, remote viewing, time travel by warping spacetime)
• If our reality turned out to be a simulation, the majority of people would probably have a huge meltdown and start acting in an unpredictable and hostile way

Free energy.

We’re all telepathically connected.

The current human power structures are unhealthy and abusive.

Reality isn’t at all what we think it is.

Theory: Aliens are here running some kind of genetic experiment, they upgraded us into our current species for this reason, and have been producing hybrids using the DNA they took from people in abductions.

Once the hybrids are ready, ET will have no more use for us. They will cleanse the planet and hand it to their new creation.
