I really don't want to start a pointless discussion or be a smart ass, but the Bible - Old and New Testament- are full of egregious crimes, racism, murder, rape, anti-science, homophobia, misogyny, backwardness, historical nonsense and just plain stupidity!
In this respect, priests and republicans and many other as yet unenlightened people follow precisely this defective pseudo-morality

There was an article about a month ago where a guest pastor spoke in an Evangelical church on the Beatitudes (blessed are the poor, etc.) and the congregation came up to him afterwards and asked why he was preaching liberal bullshit. They don't care about Jesus or God.
