The ban on Muslim clothing has begun

Post by lkwalker » Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:21 am

The new French law banning veils takes effect today. Any woman caught wearing a veil in public is subject to arrest and a fine of €150 and citizenship classes.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy has said the veils imprison women and are an affront to principles of equality and secularism.
But what President Sarkozy seems to be overlooking is the time honored French principle of freedom of expression. It doesn't take a Nostradamus to see that the French have kicked a hornet nest.

Perhaps that's the whole idea. To provoce muslims to protest and break the law, make them criminals and create an even bigger gap between muslims and the rest of the French population. It's like a preparation for war. Sad day, this is.

At least I know from my own country that whenever someone starts demanding a ban against the burka, it's not because of any concern for women't rights or equality, like they always claim. Scratch the surface of their arguments just a tiny little bit, and then their fear and dislike of muslims in general emerges in all it's ugliness.

...not to mention that the burqa is an ugly woman's best friend.

Don't force your shit on everyone else. Period. Regardless of your religion. Ban it all. Ban, ban, ban.

Not all people find pleasure in being so superficial.
