I'm doing a raving anti-christmas rant in my Sunday school class next week. I expect to be either fired or beaten to death but it will be worth it either way.

One year I entered my yacht "cannibal" in the Marina del Rey Christmas boat parade. One of my buddies at the yacht club was the head dwarf of the dwarf actors guild. He got his little buddies to go along with the gag.

We had a large cauldron on the bow of the sloop, and in it was Santa. Hanging from the rigging were antlers. The dwarfs were in black face and wore grass skirts and had fake bones in their noses.

We sang this song: (Sung to the tune of "what do you do with a drunken sailor")

What do you do while you're cooking Santa,
What do you do while you're cooking Santa,
What do you do while you're cooking Santa,
Early in the morning.

Pop and skin his little reindeer,
Pop and skin his little reindeer,
Pop and skin his little reindeer,
Early in the morning.

I can't remember the rest, though I wrote it. :(

A photo of the Cannibal can be seen here:

Helicopter crashes installing Christmas tree in Auckland

Sarah Ivey / AP
Firemen work at the scene of a helicopter accident in Auckland's Viaduct Basin, New Zealand, Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011.
James Cheng writes
A helicopter installing a Christmas tree on Auckland's waterfront on Wednesday morning crashes in dramatic fashion, incredibly the pilot escapes serious injury. See the dramatic video footage below.
AP reports: Footage captured by Television New Zealand Wednesday morning shows the pilot slowly descending from about 25 feet (8 meters) when the chopper's blades appear to get caught in cables attached to scaffolding. The rear of the helicopter snaps and the pilot is tossed about as the helicopter smashes into the ground.
The television station reports that pilot Greg Gribble, who has 20 years experience, says he's "doing fine" after his ordeal.

People keep setting up a tree in the same places each year. Wonder why a tree isn't planted an left there to use each year.

I am think the tree cutting and setup guy lobby is pretty strong.

Plant a tree? What a stoopid idea. What are you some sort of Commie or something?
