The oscar awards

Post by Pigeon » Sun Mar 27, 2022 10:35 pm

So why does Hollywood think it and it's opinion is a big deal.

A bunch of people who get rich pretending to be persons and things they are not.

I asked the internet:

As a measure of the quality of art, the Oscars definitively do not matter. Art is subjective, and trying to label something as "the best" in a field is inherently doomed to failure. The Oscars have to be viewed as what they are, which is a poll of a few thousand Hollywood professionals as to what (or who) they liked in a particular year. Some of them know what they're talking about. Some of them don't. They're just people with opinions

Watching only seconds of the show and happened to pass through in that moment. Odd.

"Did that just happen" moment.

Speak of the Oscars.

Oops

Here's the moment Chris Rock made a "G.I. Jane 2" joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, prompting Will Smith to punch him and yell, "Leave my wife’s name out of your f--king mouth."

After Will sat and laughed over the joke.

Best actor and biggest loser.

What they are not showing is Will Smith laughing at the joke, seeing Jada's face, then all of a sudden jumping up to go slap Chris!
Is that Will Smith's biggest hit in 20 years? i can't remember...

America doesn't really work like that much anymore.

Instead of that win, he went with a loss.

his acceptance speech was also really bad, "love makes you do crazy things" aka "you made me do this" legit abuser language. i'm pretty shocked at the amount of apologia surrounding this on twitter.

Yes, fucking thank you. The number of troglodytes on Reddit being like “BRO THATS WHY YOU DONT DISRESPECT ANOTHER MANS WOMAN BRO” is absurd.

Also, will ended up winning. He could have looked like such a a badass if he had stayed quiet after the joke and then mentioned it in his acceptance speech in a clever or earnest way that made Rock look like a real villain.
Cause he isn't intelligent enough or too emotional to understand that take.

I cannot believe will smith ASSAULTED someone and then got a standing ovation. If he wanted to protect jada, he could have gone up and talked about her/alopecia and Chris rock would have given him space.
It is what America is becoming. Cold fries? Beat up or shooting the fast food worker. Act like an ass on an airplane. On and on.

Trumpitis.
