Either what we witness is factual or there are no facts at all. Choose your poison. I think that's what the General had in mind.

I've never seen anything with my own eyes, I just prefer believing that they're around. Makes life a bit more fun.

I should have been more specific - I've never seen an alien or UFO, knowingly, with my own eyes.

I am starting to believe, though, that we create all the things that come into our lives. Including aliens...

You have seen nothing but the unidentified- flying or not. That is the General's point. His spiel was not about aliens per se but knowledge in general.
